(gita)RED debut at the 2019 MotoGP in Valencia, Spain with the Aprilia racing team

The gita robot custom design to support the Global Fund to fight AIDS with (RED)

Did you know that the roboticists who designed the gita robot work side-by-side with designers of high-performance racing motorcycles? Aprilia Motorcycles is the sporty flagship brand of the Piaggio Group, our parent company. Piaggio Fast Forward sent the gita robot to Valencia, Spain during the final round of 2019 MotoGP season to join the Aprilia racing team in raising social awareness and making strides in the fight to end AIDS in collaboration with (RED).

In the last three years, the Piaggio Group’s collaboration with (RED) has ensured more than one million days of treatment for the prevention of hidden transmission of the HIV virus from mothers to children. Last year was the first year that PFF participated with the creation of the limited edition (gita)RED that has all the capabilities of the original gita but features the signature (RED) styling. The gita robot is a first-of-its-kind lifestyle robot that carries your belongings, empowering you to engage with the people and in the activities you love most, head up and hands free. It was quite the scene in Valencia but most eyes were on the little following robot that helped power the event by following behind carrying people’s stuff. The gita robot was a photographer’s assistant, hauling heavy camera equipment, followed the marketing team with all their race day collateral to hand out to passers-by and most importantly, followed behind members of the Aprilia racing team crew as they worked and prepared to drive.
